 Fritz and Kody were trying to outdo each other over the hip. Of course the only way we could decide who was better was with a side-by-side comparison. What you can’t see in the picture is Fritz’s “oh sh*t” face, when he realized Kody was barreling down behind him.
 As the temperature in Denver climbed up towards 90 degrees we headed out for the cooler climate of the mountains. After a brief stop at Empire’s Sweet Shop, to fuel up on Colorado’s best BBQ sandwiches and shakes, we continued on to Silverthorne.
In Silverthorne the group grew, as Starfighter, Evan Carlson and Dave Sansone joined the crew. Kody, Sansone and E. Car got right down to business by starting with a technical drop. The trees at the top made it hard to kick in with any speed and the landing was soft , marred by tree roots, and pitched at crazy angles. E. Car showed us how to do it with flair and Kody showed us why it’s a good idea to wear elbow pads...

The highlight of the Silverthorne dirt park is the quarter pipe. Mork translated some skate park skills to the dirt and exhibited his love for the King of Pop with a little MJ action...

And E. Car demonstrated the definition of “textbook hand plant”...
While showing us his perfect handplant, E. Car happened to notice that the tree closest to the quarter was afflicted by Pine Bark Beetle. This angered the eco-conscious Sansone and he set out to eradicate the beetles. No easy task, since the tree sat over a foot back from the lip of the quarter. Sansone started at the base of the trunk and worked all way to the top...Extermination by tree stall...
After the session Sansone invited the whole crew over for dinner. Thank you Sansone for not only putting up with such a dirty bunch, but for feeding us too!
