Fiddle sticks... I broke my Truck
Posted On 05/11/08 @ 04:19 AM by Double_A

So my neihbor Chris and I are streching, getting ready to board and I tell him to hold on to his socks because im gonna throw down a trick so sick on my first drop in, that its gonna blow his socks off. "O Yeah, lets see it." he said. I drop in, hit the ramp, do a wimpy tail grab (I was trying to do a One-footed Tail grab...) then rolled up my getto slant ramp did a 90* turn, which cuased my rear tires to rolled into the gap on the side of the ramp. Gravity had its way with me and pulled me to the ground. I sat up, brushed my self off, and turned around. I couldn't believe my eyes, my back truck was parallel to my board. "NOOOOOOO" I shouted. I quickly ripped my board out of the ramps clutches, and gathered up all the pieces to my suspension. I then took my board to my front yard for some good old fashion Riggs-rigging. I'll show ya how it's done.

First assess the damage and disassemble.

next make an aluminum plate that will fit inside the top hanger of the truck.

Then pre-drill some holes and attach.

Finally, reassemble truck and ride.

(This repair is only meant to be a temporay fix untill my new parts come in... Hopefully real soon)

Update: the fix held up and le me ride for the next few days. untill it finally snapped. which could of been fixed by leaving more aluminun between the edge of the plate and the screw. But the the new upper truck piece came in, and my board is as good as new.
